NiceLabel is a suite of tools of tools intended for designing and printing labels. The installation package contains Automation Builder, Automation Manager, Print and Designer. The interfaces of these programs look modern and intuitive. Besides, the use of standard and contextual ribbons helps you find the desired feature with no difficulty. What is more, since they look very similar to Microsoft Office tools, you will probably feel like you already know them.

The main tool in the group is NiceLabel Designer. It has a welcome screen from where various learning resources, such as training videos, user guides and sample files, can be accessed. Moreover, if you decide to create a new label, there is a wizard to guide you through the steps of choosing a printer, setting paper size, selecting label layout and specifying label dimensions.

After this assisted initial configuration, you can start adding elements to your label. Fortunately, you can include practically anything you need on a label, including barcodes, text and graphic. By the way, the tool supports 70 types of linear and 2D barcodes, including some of the industry standards such as GS1-128, DataMatrix and QR code. Other types of objects can also be inserted using the available drawing tools. This way, you can add more style to the labels by using rectangles, ellipses, lines and others.

In the case of variable elements, they can be linked to fields in a database. Luckily, there is a wizard for this procedure, too. As you will notice, the tool lets you connect to not only the built-in database but also to a wide range of external sources. Not only that, the imported data can be processed to generate new values.

Once the designing phase is over, you can proceed to export the labels to various formats, including Pocket PC as well as SAP and EPS files. In addition, to facilitate their manipulation, the package comes with a database in which you can store labels and barcodes.

Finally, you are ready to print your label. In this regard, good news is that you can print labels in batches. Besides, a part of the process like incrementing and customizing codes is fully automated.

To conclude, NiceLabel is a collection of software tool that facilitate the whole process of creating labels, which goes from designing to finally printing them. The product is distributed as a single installation package. Then, depending on the edition you choose to try or buy, you may use its different features. As to the editions, they are called Powerform, Pro and Express with varying prices. Still, it feels like the product may be beyond the budget of small business.
